About
Mates helping mates save money
MateCode is Australia's community-driven platform for sharing and discovering referral codes — built by Australians, for Australians.
Our mission: make it effortless for every Australian to find a working referral code before signing up to a new service — so they never pay full price when they don't have to.
Our story
MateCode started from a frustration every Australian knows: why is it so hard to find a working referral code before you sign up to a new service? We were constantly texting codes to friends, digging through Reddit threads, and still ending up on the wrong end of a deal that could have saved us $20 or $30.
So we built MateCode — a place where Australians can easily share and discover referral codes for everything from ride-sharing and food delivery to banking and streaming. It's built for Australians, focused on Australian services, and maintained by a team that actually uses these products every day.
The problem is real: referral programs are one of the most underused money-saving tools around. Banks offer up to $100 to new customers. Food delivery apps give $10–$30 off a first order. Ride-sharing services credit new riders for multiple trips. Most Australians don't know these codes exist, or can't find a working one when they need it. MateCode fixes that.

How we review every code
This is the core of what makes MateCode different — we don't publish codes automatically.
Community submission
Anyone can submit a referral code through our form — the code, company, description, value and expiry. Every submission goes into a pending queue; nothing is published automatically.
Manual review
Our team manually reviews every submission before it goes live — checking the company is legitimate, the code format looks right, the description isn’t misleading, and there’s no spam or affiliate fraud. Usually within 24–48 hours.
What gets rejected
Unverifiable or suspicious services, misleading value claims, codes targeting vulnerable people (gambling, payday loans), duplicates, fabricated codes, and anything from adult, illegal or harmful businesses.
Published with a review date
Approved codes go live with the date they were reviewed. The community can flag codes that have stopped working, and we re-review and remove them if confirmed invalid — keeping the database accurate.
Community reporting
Every listing has a “worked / didn’t work” vote. Codes that stop landing are deprioritised quickly and removed if confirmed invalid, so the list reflects what’s actually working.
The result: every code you see on MateCode has been reviewed by a real person, not published by an algorithm.
What we stand for
Community first
The platform only works because Australians share their codes with strangers. We honour that generosity by keeping browsing and sharing free.
Transparency
No hidden catches, no paid placements pretending to be community codes. Sponsored content is labelled. Listing order is based on recency and usage, not who paid.
Safety first
Every code goes through manual review. We operate in line with Australian Consumer Law and the Privacy Act 1988, and our content policy prohibits misleading or harmful listings.
Fair pricing
Browsing and copying codes is always free, and you can share up to 3 codes on the free plan. Pro ($50/year) unlocks unlimited codes and featured placement. Non-intrusive ads fund the rest.
The MateCode team
We're a small team of Australians who care about helping our community save money. We built MateCode because there was no trusted, Australian-focused platform for referral codes. We moderate every submission personally, answer support emails ourselves, and keep improving the platform based on community feedback.
